We navigate the Preguiças River toward its mouth. The river’s name comes from the many three-toed sloths (bichos-preguiças) that once inhabited the riverside forests, as well as its calm, gentle waters influenced by the tides. Along the way, you will see a landscape dominated by palms and mangroves.
Vassouras (Pequenos Lençóis): Our first stop. Enjoy free time to see the capuchin monkeys that live in the mangroves next to the beach (Please do not feed the monkeys).
Fishermen Villages: We continue past the villages of Espadarte, Morro do Boi, and Moitas, where you can admire the beautiful beaches and dunes of the “Small Lençóis.”
Mandacaru & the Lighthouse: We reach the village of Mandacaru to visit the Preguiças Lighthouse. From the top, you will have a privileged 360-degree view of the dunes, the river, the ocean, and the local vegetation.
Atins Beach: Finally, the speedboat heads to Atins Beach for lunch (not included) at a beachfront restaurant. We recommend: Atins Beach Bar or Lar Doce Mar. Enjoy free time to relax on the beach.
Important Notes:
Lunch: Held in Atins (not included).
Safety: Never remove your life jacket when swimming in the river or sea.
Scarlet Ibis Extension (Revoada dos Guarás): Optional add-on near Atins for € 30,00 per person. If booked, the tour hours change to 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Drop-off in Atins: If you wish to stay in Atins instead of returning to Barreirinhas, an additional € 15,00 per person applies for the transfer to your local inn.
